Friday at 11:45 a.m. occurred the death of Michael O'Neal at his home 708 E. Fremont Street. Death was due to bronchitis with which Mr. O'Neil was taken ill August 11. The deceased was born in October 1844 at Skibreen County Cork, Ireland and lived there until past 16 when he married Johanna Donovan on August 30, 1861. Shortly after their marriage they came to this country, and after living in St. Louis they came to this city, where they have lived ever since. For 40 years he was a stone mason in the employ of the Big Four. Besides his wife he is survived by one brother, Daniel O'Neill, of Chicago and six children. Mrs. Will Cathcart, Pat and Tom of Chicago; John of Poplar Bluff, AK and Fluer and Miss Katherine of this city and four grandchildren. The funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. St. Bernard's Church and the services will be in charge of Father TM Conroy. Interment at Calvary. Mr. and Mrs. O'Neill were married 50 years ago Wed. and it was their intention to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary by having all their children come home. It was a day they had looked forward to with keen anticipation but the sickness of Mr. O'Neil turned the day into one of sorrow instead of happiness. - kbz
