Mrs. Mary E. Oakley, 41, of 212 W. Wabash Ave., died Thursday afternoon in Culver Hospital where she had been a patient one day. She was born April 10, 1918, the daughter of Clio and Edith Potter Shaw. She married Maurice Oakley, Sept. 12, 1937, in Crawfordsville. Mrs. Oakley was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School and was employed at the old Adlers Women's Wear store. She had lived her entire life here and was a member of the First Methodist Church. Mr. Oakley is assistant manager at Steck's. Survivors include the husband: her father; a daughter, Judith Kay, at home; an aunt, Mrs. E. A. Harbers of Peoria, Ill.; two uncles, Noble Shaw of Crawfordsville and Roy Shaw of Indianapolis. Funeral rites will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday at Bright Funeral Home with Rev. John G. DeKruyter officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Friday.
