Ladoga, Ind Dec 28 – After suffering agony many times during the past few years and undergoing four operations in an effort to be cured of a cancer, Nash C. Obenchain died about midnight this morning at the home of his father three-quarters of a mile north of here. The deadly cancer affected his face and during some of the operations much of his face about his mouth had been cut away. During the latter part of the summer he went to Chicago to the same physicians who had performed the four other surgical operations to have them operate again. This they refused to do and he returned home knowing full well that his death would come sooner or later on account of his fatal malady.  He was confined to his bed for the past three months and when the end  came he did not lose consciousness.  The deceased was a man possessed of much nerve and never complained of his lot, maintaining the same silence until the last that he had during the long trying ordeal. He was 45 years old and  unmarried. His father, ED Obenchain survives but his mother has been dead some years. One sister survives. She resides in Kentucky. The funeral will be conducted on Saturday at one o’clock at the Christian Church in this place by Rev  SD Smith. The interment will take place in the Harshbarger cemetery. - kbz
