VEEDERSBURG — John Asa Oblinger, 79, lifelong resident of Veedersburg, died at his home here at 5:15 p.m. Sunday. Born March 6, 1888, near Veedersburg, he was the son of Jacob and Tabitha Martin Oblinger. He married Edna Shoaf here July 1, 1935. Oblinger was employed for a number of years at the brick yards in Veedersburg and Crawfordsville. Prior to retirement, he was employed at the State Highway Garage in Veedersburg. He was a member of the Veedersburg Nazarene Church. Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Laura Graham of Kingman and Mrs. Ethel Rothenberg of Veedersburg; two step-daughters, Mrs. Louise Robbins and Mrs. Margie Thomas, both of Veedersburg, and two step-sons, Russell and Ray Mears, both of Veedersburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Nazarene Church with Rev. Omer Walters officiating. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery east of Veedersburg. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour preceding services. Friends may call at the Sever Mortuary in Veedersburg from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.   --typed by Walt W
