Newtown - Mrs. Blanche E. OGLE, 81, died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Comfort Nuring Home, Lafayette where she had been a patient only a few days. She was hospitalized 3 weeks in Home Hospital in Lafayette prior to going to the nursing home. Born July 12, 1881, in Richland Twp, she was a daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth Carpenter. She married Everett Ogle in 1900. Mr. Ogle died a number of years ago. She was a member of the Newtown Presbyterian Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Hazelgrove of Lafayette; a brother, Daniel Carpenter of Winterhaven, Fla; a sister, Mrs. Edith Shade of Newtown and one grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Crumley Funeral Hojme in Hillsboro, Rev. George Phelps pastor of the Newtown Baptist Church will officiate. Burial in Newtown Cemetery, Friends may call at the funeral home.

Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

NEWTOWN, Ind. (CNS)-- Mrs. Blanche E. Ogle, 81, of Newtown, died at 9:30 p m. Wednesday (April 17, 1963) in the Comfort Nursing Home in Lafayette. She had been hospitalized for three weeks in the Home Hospital at Lafayette prior to entering the nursing home. Born July 12, 1881, in Richland Township she was a daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth DeAth Carpenter. She was married May 15, 1900, to Everett Ogle who preceded her in death in 1940. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Hazelgrove of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Edith Shade of Newtown; a brother, Daniel Carpenter of Winter Haven, Fla., and a granddaughter. Mrs. Ogle was a member of the Presbyterian Church. The body is at the Crumley Funeral Home at Hillsboro where friends will be received Thursday afternoon and evening. Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. George Phelps officiating. Burial will be in Newtown Cemetery.   -- typed by Walt W
