Oglesbee - Ed

Source: Waveland Independent, Waveland, Montgomery County, Indiana Aug 6, 1926

Ed Oglesbee, who formerly lived here on the Moser place, died at his home near Southport south of Indianapolis on Tuesday of last week, He had not been well on Monday but in the evening said he would help do the milking. His son, Albert was on the opposite side of the barn and heard him vomiting. He ran to him and Mr. Oglesbee said, "I've bursted something in my throat." Albert carried him to the house. He died the next day. Examiniation showed that the oesophagus had been bursted. The physician in attendance said that such cases were very rare and that nothing could have been done. After leaving Waveland Mr. Oglesbee bought a small farm near Avon. He did not live there very long until he moved to Indianapolis. While there his son, Elmo and his daughter, Louie, died within a week of each other with flu. He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Ida Fry and by one son, Albert. He was born in Ohio. He was a member of the local Knights of Pythias Lodge and was well liked by all who knew him. - transcribed by kbz - remember I typed this, you did not so give this site credit to where you received it :) THANKS

Mr. Oglesbee was taken suddenly ill on Monday July 19 with acute indigestion and lived until wednesday. The family has the sincerest sympathy of their many friends here in their sad bereavement Jeff Davis received the message and left immediately to attend the funeral.
