NEW MARKET — Harvey Lee Oliver, 83, died at 12:20 a.m. Thursday in the Carmen Nursing Home at Crawfordsville. Mr. Oliver, a retired carpenter, specialized in the building of barns. He attended the New Market Christian Church. Born on May 31, 1885, in Putnam County, he was the son of James H. and Sarah Wilson Oliver. He was married on May 3, 1905, to the former Stella Burdett who survives. The deceased was a graduate of Putnam County Schools. Surviving besides the widow are a grandson, Rex Oliver of St. Clair Shores, Mich.; a granddaughter, Mrs. Hubert Deck of Darlington; two brothers, Dexter of Burnettesville and Clay of Clarks Hill, and a sister, Cora Hartman of Thorntown. He was preceded in death by a son and a daughter. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Reeves Funeral Home with Rev. William Schalk officiating. Burial will be in Brick Chapel Cemetery.
