Oppy - James

- New Richmond - James Oppy died in his bed from a stroke of apoplexy Sunday morning at 2 o'clock On Thursday he had moved his family into town and after working all day Saturday and retired in his usual good health. His wife was aroused during the night by one of the children wanting a drink of water and upon arising found that her husband had been dead for a matter of an hour or more. Mr. Oppy was 56 years old and spent all his life in the immediate vicinity of New Richmond. He leave a wife, two sons and one daughter, four brothers, Noah, George, Edward and Frank and one sister, Mrs. Mary J. Westfall besides numerous other relatives to mourn his loss. The funeral was held this afternoon and interment in New Richmond Cemetery. -- kbz
