Asa Osborn, 78, well known "marrying squire" of Covington, died Saturday afternoon, after a long illness. He was born in Kentucky on May 13, 1860, the son of Andrew and Mary Osborn, and is survived by one son, Cecil, of Chicago, and a sister, Mrs. William J. Rammel, of Teetersburg, (Veedersburg?) Indiana. Mr. Osborn served as justice of the peace for many years and married some 1,500 couples from eastern Illinois and western Indiana. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at the Shelby funeral home, in charge of Rev. O. W. McGaughey of Veedersburg, with burial at Mt. Hope cemetery.   -- typed by Walt W
