James Ostler, Jr. aged 38 years was shot by Perry Marsh in the Marsh cornfield near Frankfort Sunday night and died at the Palmer hospital in that city Tuesday. Marsh had been missing corn from his fields all winter, the loss usually occuring on Sunday night. Last SUnday night he watched the field. Two men entered and as they walked toward him he commanded them to halt. Instead both ran. Marsh fired at random to frighten them but realized he had hit one and on investigating found the man's prostrate body. He called the police but when they arrived the man was gone. Later it was found that he had crawled to the sub station of the traction line from where he was taken to the hospital. Marsh is out on a bond of one thousand dollars. The man's father confessed that it was they who visited the Marsh cornfield.
