Shirley Mae OWEN, 16-year-old Linden HS senior died at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Lafayette at 12:40 am. Wednesday. Death caused by a complication of ailments following an illness of several months. Miss Owen, popular with her classmates and teachers was a leader in her school, being president of Sunshine Society and VP of the Senior class. She was an A student according to faculty members. She was born at Linden Nov 25, 1924, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Owen and spent her entire life here. She belonged to St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Crawfordsville. Besides the parents she is survived by the following sisters and brothers; Mrs. Geraldine Perkins; and Lewis and Lynn Perkins. Friends may pay their respects at the family home after 1 p.m. Thursday. The funeral will be held from St. Bernard's Church in Crawfordsville 9 o'clock Saturday morning Sept 6 in charge of Father Keating with burial in Calvary Cemetery. - kbz
