Wm. Phillips died at his home north of town last Monday of paralysis. He was 76 years of age, an old soldier serving through the war of the rebellion. Funeral at Union, conducted by Rev. Tompkinson.

William Phillips, an old soldier whose home was north of town died on Monday evening of paralysis. He was 67 years of age. He was buried in Union Cemetery on Tuesday.

Note: Born 22 October 1833 died 5 February 1900 - he was a Sgt in Co. E. Indiana Heavy Artillery
