For a number of years Mr. Smith was in the drug business here, being associated first with his son RC Smith. The firm was afterward known as Smith & Steele. Mrs. Smith had been a member of the Christian Church all her life and a firm believer in the teachings of its doctrine. She is survived by two children, Mrs. MC Klein and RC Smith, both of this city. She is survived by a half brother, Frank Pittman of Indianapolis and the following sisters, Mrs. Suda Pierson of Danville, Ind; Mrs. Laura Abbott of Lincoln, Neb and Mrs. Julia Huey of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Owing to the illness of Mr. Smith the funeral was private. It was held at the Smith home this afternoon at 2. Rev. John M. Alexander officiated and interment was made in Oak Hill.
