Hillsboro - Kenneth B. SLOAN, 67, of Rt 1, Waynetown a retired farmer and barber who had cut hair in several west central Indiana communities was fatally stricken at his home Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Sloan had been a barber in Kingman, Newtown, Mellott, Hillsboro and Waynetown. He had been known to several citizens band radio operators as "Old Farmer." He was graduated from Hillsboro HS and Thorr's Barber School at Indianapolis. He was a member of F&AM and Eastern Star at Hillsboro, Wallace Low 12 and Hillsboro Christian Church. He was born at Silverwood Oct 24, 1910 a son of Fred and Effie Brant Sloan. He married Lois Cain Aug 18, 1932 at Rockville. She survives. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Vivian) Strawser of Rt 3, Rockville; two sons, Roy K of Lafayette and Dale of Hillsboro; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Crumley-William Funeral Home here with Rev. Robert Boyd officiating. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
