Stella Mabel Smith,
83, of Denver, Colo., sister of Mrs. Dorothy Smith of Crawfordsville, died
Friday in St. Anthony’s Hospital at Denver. She was a member of the Order of
Eastern Star at Indianapolis. Mrs. Smith was born in Boone County on May 19,
1885, a daughter of Elmer and Sarepta Emmert Gardner. Surviving beside the
sister are a son, Marion A. of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Wilma J. Junge of
Denver; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Services will be at 1 p.m.
Thursday in Conkle Funeral Home at Speedway with burial in Union Chapel
Cemetery there. Friends may call at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. – jlr
