KOKOMO – Mrs. Marie Laura Vaughn, 74, a former resident of Crawfordsville and a native of Parke County, died Tuesday in St. Joseph Hospital here. She was a Jehovah’s Witness. Mrs. Vaughn was born Dec. 5, 1901, a daughter of Emmet and Mary Gill Gillem. She married Theodore Spillman Vaughn in 1924. He is deceased. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Helen Fleenor of Kokomo and Mrs. Avis Ferguson of Bringhurst; a son, Richard; two brothers, John T. Gillem of Tipton and Leslie Gillem of Kokomo; a sister, Mrs. Marian Nellie Summers of Kokomo; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two step-great-grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Eller Mortuary here with the Rev. G. E. Brooker officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. – jlr
