Vance - James - 1900

Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal, 1 June 1900

James M. Vance, aged 51 years, died quite suddenly Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock at his home in Highland. He was a photographer and had come here from Frankfort with his family only a few days ago seeking a location. Last Tuesday after breakfast he took a bicycle ride and returning sat down in the house. He soon complained of a pain in his breast, and lying down on the couch he quickly expired. He had complained of similar pains for two or three days past, but did not realize that he had heart disease. He leaves a wife and four children. He was a son of Mrs. Amanda D. Vance, of Jefferson street, and was raised north of town in the Fullen neighborhood. - thanks to Kim H
