Charley Grant VanCleave, 77, died suddenly at his home near here Wednesday morning at 11:30 o'clock after suffering a heart attack. He had been ill 3 weeks. Born July 2, 1870, at Waveland, he was the son of Aaron and Lucinda Taylor VanCleave. He married Anna Mae Scott May 16, 1895 at Waveland. He was a member of the New Market Baptist Church and he received his education at Todd School at Browns Valley. He had been a fence builder 40 years. Surviving are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Richard Fendley of Ladoga and Mrs. Elmer Sanders of New Market; 3 sons, George of Wanpeton ND Paul of Fresno Calif; and Levi of Chicago a brother Reese of Crawfordsville; 12 grandchildren and one great. A daughter died in infancy and 3 sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Sat afternoon at 2:30 at the Noble Reeves Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Skeleton in charge. Burial in Indian Creek Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home
