New Market- Eliza Leota Vancleave, 84, died suddenly of a stroke at her home 3 miles west of New Market about 7:30 p.m. Friday. Born July 14, 1874 in Wayne County, she was the daughter of William M. and Mary Anne Dodridge Wright. On Oct 15, 1913, she married Jesse G. Vancleave of Greenwood. She was a member of the New Market Methodist Church and a registered nurse. Surviving are the husband, a daughter, Mrs. Esther Smith of Crawfordsville; four sisters, Miss Laurena Wright and Mrs. Ellen Ranck of Centerville, Mrs. Sadie Rugh of Rushford, NY; and Mrs. Grace Douglass of Randolph, Iowa; a brother, Rev. J.C. Wright of Centerville and 3 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Noble Reeves Funeral Home, New Market where friends may call. Burial arrangements pending.
