Vancleave - Erastus Sylvanus

Van Vancleave, 60 years old, a prominent farmer and old resident of Montgomery county died Thursday morning at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. He was born Jan 19, 1863 at New Market, and had always been a resident of this county. Deceased was married to Olive Bradley of New Market. The latter moved to Garfield where they had since resided. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Simeon Vancleave, pioneers of the county. Besides his widow, he is survived by a son, Lee Vancleave, Crawfordsville, and two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Miles, New Market, and Mrs. Ethel Frame, also of New Market. Mr. Vancleave had been suffering an illness of several years. At times he would get better, but within the past few days he became so ill that it was necessary to take him to the hospital at Lafayette Wednesday. He was a former member of the Christian church at Garfield where the funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock. The services will be presided over by the Rev. Judy of Lafayette. Burial will be at Indiana Creek Cemetery - kbz
