Mrs. Francis AW VanCleave, who for the past two years has been in the hospital. The body of the deceased was brought to Crawfordsville today on the 1:10 Big 4 and in charge of Carver & Carver was taken directly to the Masonic Cemetery no funeral services being held. Mrs. VanCleave was born in 1836 in Harrison Co KY where she lived until 18. Then she moved to Montgomery county and in 1859 married James M. VanCleave. Mr. and Mrs. VanCleave have resided in Montgomery County since their marriage living most of the time in Whitesville and in recent years in the house at the top of the high hill near the Country Club. As stated, about 3 years ago Mrs. VanCleave was afflicted with a stroke of paralysis which affected her mind and for the past two years his been confined in the hospital at Indianapolis. She was 71 when she died. Mrs. VanCleave leaves as the only survivor her husband, James M. VanCleave. James M. VanCleave is one of the few old soldiers of the Civil War left having served 3 years in the 10th Indiana. She was a member of the Christian Church. - kbz
