Ladoga Oct 19 -- James W. VanCleave, 80, a retired farmer, died of acute reuritis Saturday afternoon after an illness of several weeks at his home in Walnut Twp. He was born near New Market and was the son of James and Jane VanCleave. Surviving the deceased are two sisters, Mrs. Jay Perry and Mrs. Martha Denny of Colorado and a brother, Linsey VanCleave of Colorado. He was born at New Market on November 10, 1845 the son of John and Jane VanCleave. During his life he was a member of the Baptist Church. He never married. On Sunday the body was removed to the home of his nephew, Frank Terry at New Ross. Funeral services will be held from the ME Church at Ladoga at 2 o'clock Tuesday and interment will be at the Harshbarger Cemetery. - kbz
