Vancleave - Lilly

Lilly Vancleave was born Jul 1882, and departed this life June 23, 1900. The funeral took place at Freedom Church on Monday. The remains were laid in the Indian Creek Cemetery. She was a dearly cherished one in our hearts. She was a member the Freedom Church and lived a noble and devoted life. She leaves a father and two brothers to mourn her loss. We cannot tell why these great sorrows are sent upon us, but in the Bible it says,"Whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth." Is not that a most comforting thought? Thy will be done.
God needed one more angel child
Amidst his shining band,
And so he bent with loving smile,
And clasped dear Lilly’s hand.
