Lois Evelyn VanCleave, 64, of Rt. 4, Crawfordsville, died Monday in St. Vincent’s Hospital at Indianapolis. She was a housewife and educated in Darlington schools. Mrs. VanCleave was born at Darlington on Aug. 18, 1922, to Alex L. and Susie Maxwell. She was married to John T. VanCleave who died in 1975. She is survived by a son, David of Crawfordsville; three daughters, Betty Newkirk of Crawfordsville, Mary Brown of Waveland and Margaret Estep of Crawfordsville; 23 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 13 brothers and sisters. Two daughters and four brothers are deceased. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday in Burkhart Funeral Home at Crawfordsville, with the Rev. N. L. Holland officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery North. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Wednesday.
