Lowell W. VanCleave, 73 of Greencastle a native of Crawfordsville died Monday in Putnam Co Hospital at Greencastle. He was a retired radio operator for the Indiana State Police. He was a member of the Gobin Memorial United Mehtodist CHurhc, Temple Lodge 47 F&AM and past patron of Greencastle OES 256. VanCleave was born July 24, 1912 at Crawfordsville, the son of Samuel W and Pearl James VanCleave. He married Nellie Rank June 14, 1936. She survives. Also surviving are a sister, Gladys Myers; a grandson Tim Washburn; one niece and 4 nephews. He was preceded in death b ya stepson Ted Washburn on Sunday. Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.. Thursday in the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home; Greencastle. The Rev. Theodore McKnight will officiate. Burial will be at a Cemetery at Culver. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. OES rites will be conducted at 7 pm. followed at 7:30 by Masonic services. - kbz
