Vancleave - Nancy Gilliland

Mrs. Nancy Isabel Vancleave passed away at home of Mrs. Otis Couger near here. Nancy Isabell Vancleave, 67 years of age, widow of John B. Vancleave, died Monday evening at 5:30 o'clock at the home of' her daughter, Mrs. Otis Couger, two miles east of the city on the Northwestern traction Line of a complication of heart and kidney troubles. Nancy Isabell Gilliland was the daughter of Samuel and Sarah Gilliland, who were among the pioneer settlers of this county and very prominent people of their time. She was born at the old Gilliland homestead about six miles south of the city on the Greencastle road. She was married to John D Vancleave, who preceded her in death. Deceased is survived by one son, Floyd Vancleave, two daughters Mrs. Bertha Surfaceand Mrs. Mary Gouger; A daughter, Mrs. Clarence I. Thompson, and an infant daughter preceded her in death. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Smith of this city and Mrs. Ed Wray of near New Market, and two brothers, James and William Gilliland.
