Armond F. VanMeter, 56, owner and operator of Van Meter's Scrarp Yard for 21 years died Monday afternoon in Indiana University Hospital, Indianapolis. Born July 20, 1915, at Lafayette, he was a son of Fred and Goldie Middleton VanMeter. He was married April 24, 1945 to Martha D. Weliver of Crawfordsville. She survives. Other survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Judith Arnold, Vero Beach, FL; Mrs. Shirley Miller of Kingman, Mrs. Betty Grater of Crawfordsville and Miss Vickie VanMeter of Vero Beach; a brother, George VanMeter of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Erna June Dock of Kentucky and Mrs. Stella Nash of Crawfordsville, and six grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Ryan officiating. Burial in Masonic Cemetery. - kbz
