Mrs. Nellie Jones VANNICE, 77, died at 12:45 a.m. Thursday in her home on Rt. &. Mrs. Vannice had been in failing health for several years and her condition had worsened over the last year. She was the wife of John M. “Morris” Vannice. The deceased, a native of Parke County, was reared in the New Market area and attended the schools of that community. She was a longtime member of the Browns Valley Baptist Church and afterward transferred her membership to the First Evangelical United Brethren Church of Crawfordsville. She will affiliate with the church’s Faithful Circle Class and Women’s Society of World Service. Born Sept 27, 1890, she was the daughter of John P. and Amanda Boler Crow. She was first married to William Jones who died in 1953. Her marriage to Mr. Vannice was solemnized on Oct. 16, 1958. Surviving besides the husband are a sister, Mrs. Floy Smith of Crawfordsville and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, a stepbrother and a sister. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Bright Funeral Home at Crawfordsville with Revs. Larry Hancock and Richard H. Trott in charge. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday.
