Eugene H. Vest, 86, of Rt. 1, Crawfordsville, a former employee of Mid-States Steel and Wire Co. and a farmer, died Tuesday in Culver Hospital. Mr. Vest also had been employed at U.S. Steel at Anderson. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served as honorary deacon. He had been educated in the Anderson school system. Born near Franklin on Dec. 19, 1889, he was a son of Abram and Leatha Clark Vest. He was married to Eva Lee Edwards on March 23, 1910. She died Oct. 2. Surviving are two daughters, Miss Harriet Vest and Mrs. Betty Craft, both of Crawfordsville; a sister, Mrs. Pansie Cram of Anderson; and a grandson, Kent Cook of Terre Haute. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church here with the Rev. James Ranard officiating. Burial will be in Shannondale Cemetery. Friends may call at Hunt & Son Funeral Home here after 2 p.m. Thursday
