Sally Penn BURROFF
Waveland Independent
Waveland, Montgomery County, Indiana
Thursday, June 20, 1940

Sally Penn Burroff, wife of William McKinley Burroff, died at her home near Browns Valley after four days illness, following cerebral hemorrhage, early Monday morning. Funeral services Wednesday afternoon were in charge of Rev. Raymond Skelton. Burial in Freedom Cemetery. Honorary pall bearers were Virgil Vaught; Earl Etheson; Harry Ramsay; Clell Bain; Everett McCLain; Fred Spencer; Iver Bain; Jesse Potter; Ernest Byrd; JM Spencer and Flloyd Galey. The casket was carried by Marion Auturburn; George Bryan; Al Boyland; Frank Wilkinson; Fred Rice and Walter Taylor. the flowers were carried by Mesdames Lottie Ramsay; Eva Short; Lucy McClain; Ruth Vaught; Nannie Spencer; Blanche Wilkinson; Ethel Decker; Ruth Bain; Floyd Galey; Leah Petty; Fern Patton; Flonnie Bowles; Elsie Johnson; Blanche Graham and Misses Naomi Greenings and Ina Bryan. Mrs. Rossie Spencer; Mrs. Blanche Belles; Mrs. Edna Schriber and Paul hester sang, "Sweetly resting," When they Ring Those Golden Bells and Asleep in Jesus with Mrs. Floyd Gardner at the piano. NR Walker played the piano before and after the service. Mrs. Burroff was the daughter of John T. and Eveline Moore Penn and was born November 24, 1892. She married Mr. Burroff in October, 1913, who survives with four sons: Ralph Leon; Eddie Lee; Dale William and Max Neal; a sister, Bessie Penn; a brother, Walter Penn and a mother-in-law, Mrs. Pauline Burroff. She was graduated from Waveland HS and was a member of Browns Valley Baptist Church and Russellville Eastern Star.
