A few days ago, my mom and I drove past the house that was built by her great-grandfather, about 1876-78. Mom decided she'd like to stop and say hello to the current owners, whom we had never met... After we'd introduced ourselves, the owner said, "I have something for you", and produced this postage-stamp sized tintype, which was found in the house when they moved in. We have enough old family photos that we know that the subject of tintype is not an ancestor. Does anyone recognize him? The house is in Union Township, near Garfield/Darlington, IN. Whoever this man is, he probably lived in the area... Janel Cobb

These are from my grandparent's collection (Merle F Coons, 1887-1940, and Clara VanCleave Coons, 1889-1967). They lived in both Union and Brown Twps in Montgomery County). Phillip Coons If you recognize a person, please contact him.
