(c) 2001 Barb Wise (wisebarb@home.com) EXHIBIT "P" OF THE FIELD EXAMINER'S REPORT FIELD EXAMINER'S MEMORANDUM DATE: 19 MARCH 1954 CASE FILE: HOLLEN, WOODROW W, XC 16 586 695 SUBJECT: INTERVIEW WITH RUBY FERGUSON, PAOLI, INDIANA On March 19, 1954, the undersigned personally interviewed Ruby FERGUSON, aged 42 years, married, 816 W. Main Street, Paoli, Indiana. The interview was conducted at Mrs. FERGUSON's place of business, the Dependable Cleaners, of which she is one-half owner, just across the street from her home at 816 W. Main St. Mrs. FERGUSON stated that she remembered the occasion when James F. DAVIS and his wife, Inice, and her children moved into the area near the farm home of her father, Orpheus APPLE, south of Paoli in Orange County, Indiaan; that she, Ruby FERGUSON, was married and was not living at home with her parents at the time, but visited them in their home on the average of three times a week; that her father's home was about one and one-half miles from the DAVIS home; that she never visited in the DAVIS home, but she always understood that DAVIS supported his two step-sons, Woodrow and Clovie; that she understands further that Woodrow worked out as a hand from time to time, but was never in any one job too long because the times were too bad and the farmers were too poor to hire hands except at harvest time, planting time, or during the summer months; that she was of the opinion that Woodrow HOLLEN lived as a member of the family during the last few years of his minority in the home of and as a child of James F. DAVIS. /signature of A. W. Hendricks/ Field Examiner (c) 2001 Barb Wise (wisebarb@home.com)
