WOLFE, PAOLI, INDIANA On March 19, 1954, the undersigned personally interviewed Edrie E. WOLFE, married, aged 45 years, a half-sister of James F. DAVIS. Mrs. Wolfe, who reside at R. R. 1, Paoli, Indiana, lives with her husband and son at said address. The purpose of this interview was to develop information and evidence as to whether said DAVIS ever stood in the relationship of loco parentis to the veteran during the veteran's minority prior to his entrance into military service. Mrs. WOLFE stated that she remembered the marriage of her half-brother to Inice Belle HOLLEN; that she never visited them in their home, but that they visited her a couple of times during the period they were married to each other; that she knew of their family arrangement and living conditions, as well as their general situation, through others and through contact with said DAVIS; that she always understood that DAVIS was supporting the entire family including Woodrow; that she further understood that Woodrow was away working from time to time, but that these jobs were of short duration and he was never gone very long at a time, but that he spent most of his childhood after age 14 in the home of and as the child of James F. DAVIS; that DAVIS was good; that his wife, Inice, dominated him; that she, Edrie E. WOLFE, did not visit Inice for the reason that she did not regard her as a good character, even at the time her brother married her; that prior to the time that her brother married her, Inice was having some sort of an affair with one Alvin SWARTZ. Mrs. WOLFE further stated that her brother was always fond of children and that he treated them well and that children as a rule always liked him; that she never heard of any trouble or disturbances whatever between Woodrow HOLLEN and James F.
