ASSIGNED TO THE COMMISSIONING CREW OF USS PC 624 (SUBMARINE CHASER) OPERATED IN THE EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN. 12 MARCH SHIP WAS DAMAGED BY GROUNDING OFF PALERMO, ITALY. 29 JUNE TRANSFER TO NAVAL BASE BIZERTE, TUNISIA. 7 JULY 1944 REPORTED ABOARD THE USS YMS-83 (YARD MINESWEEPER). 6 MAY 1945 REPORTED ABOARD THE USS WAXSAW AN-91 (NET LAYING SHIP).17 JUNE 1945 TRANSFER TO U.S. NAVAL TRAINING CENTER GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS FOR DISCHARGE AS MOTOR MACHINIST'S MATE FIRST CLASS PETTY OFFICER.
