Enlisted on 2 February 1942. Served with the 4th Infantry Division [IVY] US 3rd Army in the European Theater. Sailed from New York for England arriving on 26 January 1944. Assaulted the Northern Coast of Normandy on 6 June 1944. Arrived in Paris August 1944. September 1944 moved on to Belgium, Luxemburg and Germany. December 1944 was in the Battle of the Bulge. January 1945 crossed the Sauer River. February 1945 crossed the Prum River. March 1945 crossed the Rhine River and was at Miebach, Germany at wars end. Was in combat 299 days. Discharged as a 1st Sergeant on 3 September 1945.
