Korean War Veteran.Entered service on 16 August 1949. Served with the 25th Infantry Division"Tropic Lighting". 27th Infantry Regiment"Wolfhounds" Company C.As a light weapons Infantryman.Cpl. Asher was seriously wounded by the enemy in South Korea on 15 February 1951 and died of those wounds the following day 16 February 1951.Awards include The Purple Heart Medal,Combat Infantryman's Badge,The Korean Service Medal,The United Nations Service Medal,National Defense Service Medal and The Korean War Service Medal. Buried at New Albany National Cemetery Indiana.
