Enlisted on 14 July 1943 at Louisville, Kentucky. Served with the 575th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion attached to the 11th Armored Division. Trained at Fort Bliss, Texas and Camp Carlson, Colorado. Departed New York on 30 October 1944 landed in England on 11 November 1944 and France on 18 December 1944, Campaigned from France Battle of the Bulge to the Siegfried Line, The race to the Rhine River and the push into Bavaria and Austria.
