Enlisted on 7 October 1943 at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. Served with the 30th Infantry Division "old hickory" 117th Infantry Regiment 1st Battalion company B.In the following campaigns Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. Awards include Combat Infantry Badge, French Croix de Guerre and Distinguished Unit Citation for action at St. Barthelmy, France on 7 August 1944. Was at Magdeburg, Germany at Wars end.
