ENLISTED ON 24 APRIL 1944 AT INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA. SERVED ON THE USS WYOMING AG-17 (GUNNERY TRAINING SHIP) FROM 31 AUGUST 1944 TO 21 OCTOBER 1944. SERVED ON THE USS OTTER DE-210 (BUCKLEY CLASS DESTROYER ESCORT). ESCORT DUTY IN THE NORTH ATLANTIC. JANUARY, 1945 SANK THE GERMAN SUBMARINE U-248. APRIL, 1945 RESCUED THE SURVIVORS OF THE USS FREDRICK C. DAVIS IN THE NORTH ATLANTIC. DISCHARGED AT GREAT LAKES NAVAL STATION, ILLINOIS ON 7 DECEMBER 1945 RATING OF SEAMAN FIRST CLASS.
