Enlisted
on 15 November 1939. Served with the 1st Armored Division 13th Armored Regiment
1st Battalion Headquarters Company. Sailed for Ireland on 10 May 1941 Arrived on
16 May 1941. Sailed from Glasgow, Scotland entered the Mediterranean Sea byway
of Straits of Gibraltar 8 November 1941 landing approximately 30 miles from
Oran,French Morocco and on to Tunisia against Rommel's German Armored Divisions.
Was disabled at Ferryville, French Morocco and evacuated to a hospital in
Casablanca and back to the United States on 8 August 1943. 30 September 1945
Honorably Discharged at Fletcher General Hospital,Cambridge, Ohio because of
Disability.
