Entered service on 19 March 1943 at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. Served with the 8th Armored Division 405th Armored Field Artillery Battalion Service Company. Landed in La Havre, France on 5 January 1945 as part of the secret US Fifteenth Army. Mid January assigned to the US Third Army. February 1945 assigned to the US Ninth Army. 27 February 1945 crossed the Roer River. 24 March crossed the Rhine River 3 April completed operation in the Ruhr Pocket.12 to 17 April 1945 liberated Halberstadt-Zwieberge concentration camps. On to Pilsen, Czechoslovakia at wars end.
