Enlisted on 12 October 1942 at Louisville, Kentucky.Served with the Tenth Army 96th Infantry Division " Deadeye Division" in the Pacific Theater. Departed the United States on 23 July 1944. Landed in the Philippines Leyte Gulf on 20 October 1944 for combat operations departed on 27 March 1945 for Okinawa combat operations landed on 1 April 1945.after combat operations departed in July 1945 for the Philippines to train for landing on Japan. Left the Philippines on 17 March 1946 for the United States. Award include the Bronze Star Medal and Presidential Unit Citation.
