Enlisted on 24 October 1941 at Huntington, West Virginia. Served with the 34th Infantry Division 168th Infantry Regiment Attached to the 1st Armored Division.5th US Army in the North African Theater. Taken Prisoner of War by the German Army on 17 February 1943 near the Kasserine Pass. Sent to Prisoner of War Camp Stalag 3b Furstenberg Brandburg, Prussia. Released on 14 June 1945.
