Enlisted 15 February 1943 at Louisville, Kentucky. Discharged September 1945. Served with the 97th Infantry Division "The Trident Division". 386th Infantry Regiment Company M 3rd US Army. Trained at Camp San Luis Obispo and Camp Cooke, California. Arrived in Le Harve, France 1 March 1945.Entered Germany near Neuss 28 March 1945.Was at Kostantinovy Lazne, Czechoslovakia when hostilities ended. Sailed from Le Havre, France on 17 June 1945 for the USA. Sailed from Seattle, Washington on 27 August 1945 on the USS John Pope for the Philippine Islands and onward to Yokohama, Japan arriving on 25 September 1945 for occupation duty.
