Entered service on 4 June 1942 at Fort Benjamin Harrison,Indiana.Served with the Coast Artillery Corps. Was lost in the North Atlantic on 3 February 1943 when the US Army Transport Dorchester was torpedoed by U-223 while bound for Narsarsuaq, Greenland 120 miles North West of Cape Farewell in Convoy SG 19.
Delmer is on the table of the missing at the East Coast Memorial New York City USA.
