Enlisted on 7 November 1940 at Richmond, Virginia. Served with the 25th Infantry Division,35th Infantry Regiment "Cacti" Company E. In the Pacific Theater of Operations. Entered into combat 10 January 1943 on Guadalcanal until 5 February 1943. Landed at Munda, New Georgia 21 July 1943 until 15 September 1943. Moved to New Zealand on 5 December 1943. Transferred to New Caledonia on 3 February 1944. Landed on Luzon, Philippine Islands on 11 January 1945.21 February 1945 operations in Caraballo Mountains. 13 May 1945 opened gateway to Cagayan Valley. 1 July 1945 moved to Tarlac. Discharged on 16 August 1945.
