ARRIVED IN NORTHWEST AFRICA WATERS IN JUNE 1943. WAS INJURED ON 3 AUGUST 1943 IN AN AIR RAID ON ADVANCED AMPHIBIOUS TRAINING BASE BIZERTE, TUNISIA. RATING OF COXSWAIN BOATSWAIN'S MATE THIRD CLASS PETTY OFFICER.
