Entered into service on 15 February 1943 at Fort Benjamin Harrison,Indiana. Trained at Camp McCain,Mississippi and Fort Jackson,South Carolina.Assigned to the 87th Infantry Division[Golden Acorn]347th Infantry Regiment Company B.Staged at Camp Kilmer,New Jersey. 10 October 1944. Deployed to the European Theater on 17 October 1944. Arrived in England on 12 November 1944 Assigned to the U.S.3rd Army.Arrived LaHarve,France 28 November 1944.Crossed into Belgium,Luxembourg and into Germany and the Battle of the Bulge. Crossed the Rhine River on 25&26 March 1945.Killed in Action on 25 March 1945.Awards are Purple Heart Medal[Posthumous]Good Conduct Medal,Europe-Africa-Middle East Campaign Medal,American Campaign Medal and the Presidential Unit Citation for The Rhine River Crossing.
