Entered the US Army as a Chaplain. Served with the 254th Infantry Regiment Headquarters' Company 63rd Infantry Division. Killed in action on 20 January 1945 during the battle of Jebsheim, France. Buried at the Epinal American Cemetery, France. Award include the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart Medal.
