Enlisted
on 1 February 1862 at Shoals, Indiana. Served with the 52nd Indiana Infantry.
Left Indiana on 7 February 1862 to Fort Henry and Fort Donelson, Tennessee at
siege of Fort Donelson. Garrison duty at Fort Henry and Fort Heiman, Tennessee.
To Pittsburg Landing April 1862 took part in siege of Corinth, Mississippi move
to Memphis, Tennessee July 1862.Discharged as a Private for disability on 1
August 1862. Enlisted at Shoals, Indiana on 9 September 1863 with the 91st
Indiana Infantry. Served at Russellville, Kentucky until 25 September 1863. At
Nashville, Tennessee,Camp Nelson and Camp Burnside, Kentucky until January 1864
at Cumberland Gap January 1864 until muster out at Indianapolis, Indiana 23
March 1864 as a Sargent.
